Memorial Day Weekend Fireworks Display At The Lake

Memorial Day Weekend is one of the greatest holiday of the year. In addition to serving as a great opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, it is also the perfect time to recognize and honor the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our great country. The United States would not exist as we know it today without their incredible sacrifice, and Eagle's Nest Realty is endlessly grateful to all of these brave soldiers and their families.

Several of the big resorts in the area are hosting public fireworks displays this weekend. Viewing from resort property is reserved for guests only in some cases, but viewing from the water is almost always free to the public. Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals

Summer is picking up steam at the Lake of the Ozarks! We are excited to announce the return of one of the best local springtime events: the Magic Dragon Car Show. The car show is named after one of the Lake's nicknames, the "Magic Dragon." The name comes from the idea that from an aerial perspective, the Lake of the Ozarks resembles a massive dragon as it winds its way through the Missouri hills. Regardless of its name's origins, however, the Magic Dragon Street Meet is an event that you won't want to miss!

Thousands Of Cars - ONE Legendary Weekend

The Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals started from humble beginnings, but it has since grown into one of the biggest events at the Lake. With over a thousand trucks, motorcycles, and cars of all different makes and models, there is sure to be something for everyone at this fast-paced event. The event is family-oriented in nature, so bring your whole crew out for a weekend you won't soon forget.

Lake residents and tourists should be aware that the Strip will be closed to regular traffic on Saturday starting at 6:00 AM and plan accordingly. Golf carts and other forms of transportation will be accessible to handicapped individuals requiring assistance.

Fun For The Whole Family!

The Historic Bagnell Dam Boulevard (affectionately dubbed "The Strip") is the perfect location to host this event, with tons of different attractions for people of all ages. The Strip offers a large variety of different outlets and shops offering t-shirts, souvenirs, arcades, restaurants, and other amusements.

Think you have to wait until the weather warms up to begin searching for your new home at the Lake of the Ozarks? Think again. Today's savvy buyers are realizing that home hunting in the winter actually has some major advantages. For example:

You have fewer other buyers to compete against.
Sellers who list their homes during the winter months are generally more motivated to sell as quickly as possible.
Because there aren't any as many buyers competing for homes, home prices are typically lower.

1. Check For Proper Insulation

Poor insulation can lead to costly energy bills. Fortunately, house hunting in the winter can offer valuable insight into your home's insulation situation. If there is snow on the ground, carefully look at the roof to determine if the snow there is melting faster than the snow on the ground. If the snow melts off of the roof more quickly, it may be a sign of poor attic insulation (which can ring up higher energy bills).

2. Evaluate The Curb Appeal

A snowy wonderland is a wonderful sight, but a drab, gray landscape is less than appealing. Take the time to carefully evaluate each home's outward appeal. If you find one you like in the winter, chances are you will absolutely love the way it looks when the weather warms up and everything turns green again.

3. Ask For Current Utility Information.

People who buy in the summer are sometimes blindsided by the first winter electric bill, but buying in the winter will protect you from that unpleasant surprise. Don't be afraid to ask your Lake of the Ozarks real estate agent to find out how much the current owners are paying to heat their home. You don't want to be caught off-guard by your first electric bill after moving in!

Home staging efforts take on a variety of different forms, depending your unique situation, but the end goal should always be the same: to create a beautiful environment that makes every prospective buyer feel comfortable and welcomed. 1. Organize, Organize, Organize
Books, toys, shoes, games, garden tools, silverware, knickknacks... as a homeowner, it's easy to accumulate a lot of stuff. If you're not careful, your home can quickly become cluttered - and clutter is a major drawback for anyone looking to buy a house at the Lake of the Ozarks. Do yourself a favor and organize everything before you list your home.

2. Clean - And Clean Again
Nothing turns off prospective buyers faster than a dirty house. When you're preparing your home for the market, you should make it a point to deep-clean your house like never before. Be sure to do a cursory sweep and wipe down the counters before every showing, too - you don't want to risk losing the interest of any prospects simply because you forgot to clean!

3. Lighten Things Up
Put yourself in your buyers' shoes: would you rather live in a dim, dark house or a bright, shiny home? Almost everyone says the same thing - no one wants to live in a dark, dingy house. Open the blinds to let as much natural light into your home as possible, and augment with lamps and overhead lights.

4. Go For Neutral
As a homeowner, you probably filled your home with pictures, knickknacks, artwork by your kids/grandkids, and other personal items. As a seller, however, you need to tuck these types of things out of sight and instead replace them with neutral items that appeal to the widest possible range of prospective buyers. Lean towards neural color schemes and avoid anything religious, political, or similarly controversial. We also recommend taking down family photos and other things that are specific to your family.

5. Make Your Home "Homey"
When it comes to staging strategies, a little bit goes a long way. Add small touches here and there to create a warm, welcoming environment your buyers will love. Toss a blanket over the arm of the couch, arrange the pillows on your bed, turn on the gas fireplace... these types of little details can make a huge difference.

Lake of the Ozarks Air Show 2015

Airplanes and vendors and food - OH MY!

The Lake of the Ozarks Air Show is BACK. Designed as a salute to the brave men and women who serve our country, this great event is always a great time for people of all ages. If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, head to the Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport!

Lake Of The Ozarks Air Show - Event Details:

Saturday, September 12th, 2015 (Rain Date: Sunday, September 13th)
Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport
Event parking at the airport: $10 per vehicle
Event parking at Camdenton schools: free (Shuttles will run from 8:00a- 5:00p)

For the safety and enjoyment of everyone involved, participants are asked not to bring any pets (other than certified service dogs) and to not bring any personal coolers, food, or beverages. There will be plenty of refreshments available for purchase at the event. Participants are, however, encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs.

Lake of the Ozarks Air Show - Feature Acts

You've never seen aerial displays quite like this one! This air show will feature aerial performances by professional airshow pilots from all over. Here's a quick list of the acts scheduled for this weekend:
